Authorship Criteria

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to GeoHuman must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal. Submissions must fit the aims and scope of the journal and demonstrate a clear spatial, geographical, territorial, environmental, or place-based contribution.

Manuscript Structure

Original research articles should normally include: Title, Author names and affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Funding Declaration, Conflict of Interest Statement, Data Availability Statement, Ethics Statement where applicable, AI Use Declaration where applicable, Acknowledgements where applicable, and References.

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and aligned with the journal scope. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and ensure that place names, concepts, and methods are accurate.

Abstract

The abstract should summarize the background, objective, method, key findings, and contribution of the study. Abstracts must be written in clear English and should not contain citations unless essential.

Keywords

Provide 4-6 keywords that reflect the main concepts, method, location, and contribution of the manuscript.

Methodology

The methodology must be described clearly enough to allow scholarly evaluation. Authors should explain research design, study site, data sources, sampling, instruments, fieldwork, software, analytical procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations.

Figures, Tables, and Maps

Figures, tables, maps, and geospatial visualizations must be clear, numbered consecutively, cited in the text, and accompanied by informative captions and data/source notes. Authors are responsible for ensuring permission to reproduce copyrighted materials.

References

References should be accurate, complete, and consistent. Authors should cite relevant and current literature while avoiding irrelevant, excessive, or manipulative citations.

Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English. The journal may request language revision before or after peer review if the text is not sufficiently clear for international readers.

Declarations

Every manuscript must include funding, conflict of interest, data availability, ethics approval where applicable, and AI use statements.
