Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Geohuman is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and follows internationally recognized principles of publication ethics, including the COPE Core Practices. The journal expects authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher to uphold honesty, transparency, accountability, fairness, confidentiality, and respect for research participants and communities.

Duties of Authors

Authors must submit original work that has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration by another journal. Authors must ensure that data, analysis, citations, images, maps, and interpretations are accurate and not fabricated, falsified, manipulated, or plagiarized. All sources must be properly acknowledged.

Authors must disclose funding sources, conflicts of interest, ethical approval where applicable, data availability, and any use of AI-assisted technologies. Authors must ensure that all listed authors meet authorship criteria and have approved the final manuscript.

Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for fair, impartial, and timely editorial decisions based on scholarly merit, journal scope, methodological quality, ethical compliance, and relevance to readers. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by the authors' nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, institutional affiliation, political view, or personal characteristics.

Editors must protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, manage conflicts of interest, select appropriate reviewers, and respond appropriately to allegations of misconduct.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, evidence-based, and timely evaluations. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and must not use unpublished materials from the manuscript for personal advantage. Reviewers must declare conflicts of interest and decline review assignments when impartiality may be compromised.

Duties of the Publisher

Bumi Spasial Publisher supports editorial independence and does not interfere with editorial decisions. The publisher is responsible for maintaining the journal platform, preserving published content, supporting ethical publishing practices, and ensuring that business or institutional interests do not compromise editorial integrity.

Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes but is not limited to plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation, undisclosed conflicts of interest, unethical research involving human participants or communities, authorship manipulation, peer review manipulation, and submission of manuscripts generated or substantially written by undisclosed non-human tools.

Allegations of misconduct will be assessed carefully. When necessary, the journal may contact authors, reviewers, institutions, ethics committees, or other journals. Outcomes may include correction, expression of concern, retraction, rejection, notification to institutions, or other appropriate actions.
