Plagiarism and Similarity Screening Policy

Geohuman: People, Place, and Power screens submitted manuscripts for similarity using appropriate similarity-checking tools and editorial assessment. Similarity reports are used as indicators and are not treated as automatic evidence of plagiarism.

The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, text recycling without proper citation, unattributed use of data, unattributed use of images or maps, citation manipulation, or paraphrasing designed to conceal source use.

Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity, unattributed copying, or duplicate publication may be rejected before peer review. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the severity and evidence.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all quoted, paraphrased, translated, adapted, mapped, visual, tabular, and data-based materials are properly cited and used with permission where required.
